Goji berries, that is Tibetan Lycium, have small, red and orange fruits. Nowadays, they are claimed to be one of the most nutritious berries.
They are a source of vitamin C, riboflavin, calcium, iron potassium, zinc, β-carotene and selenium. The presence of such anthocyanins as lutein and zeaxanthin ensures protection against oxidative stress and regulates LDL cholesterol level.
They also contain Lycium Barbarum Polysaccharides (LBP) which have antioxidant properties, enhance immunity as well as lower the level of triglycerides and LDL cholesterol. Goji berries are also a source of fibre which supports the functioning of the digestive system.
Keep in a cool and dry place.
How to use:
Goji berries can be added to, e.g. shakes, salads or drinks. The fruit should not be subject to thermal processing as it has negative effect on health-promoting compounds that acai berries contain. To feel their beneficial properties, it is recommended to take from 10 to 40 g a day.
