Acai berries are small and dark blue, and have a high nutritional value. They contain, among other things, B vitamins, vitamin C, β-carotene and vitamin E. There is also quercetin which has anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties, whereas the presence of such anthocyanins as lutein and zeaxanthin ensures protection against oxidative stress and regulates LDL cholesterol level.
Acai berries also contain potassium, copper, zinc and calcium. Thanks to a high content of ellagic acid, they also have antibacterial properties and help to lower blood pressure. The fruit is also high in fibre which supports the functioning of the digestive system.

How to use:
Acai berries can be added to shakes, desserts or drinks. The fruit should not be subject to thermal processing as it has negative effect on health-promoting compounds that acai berries contain. It is recommended to take from 5 to 10 g a day.
